This is a family that is very near and dear to my heart. Not only do I think mom and dad are wonderful parents and their children are beyond adorable; they’re family!!  I guess, I might be a little biased. This is my “little” brother, my sister-in-law and my four; yes, 4 nephews! It’s a funny story of how my family ended up with all boys. On my father’s side; each family has always had three boys and one girl. My dad is one of three boys and a girl, his only sister had three boys and a girl, I’m the only girl out of three brothers and my oldest brother has three boys and a girl. I’m sure you see a pattern developing here.

When they were expecting their first born, they were told by the ultrasound tech that it was a girl. We had a baby shower for “Baby Lilly” and as a family, and we were all anxiously awaiting the new arrival of our daughter, niece, and granddaughter. However, two weeks before the baby was born, my sister-in-law had another ultrasound and we found out she was having a boy instead – welcome, Cameron! When they were expecting baby #2, they didn’t want to find out the sex.  When the baby was born, we were met with another boy – Happy Birthday, Caine!

Fast forward to July 2013 when they found out they were expecting a third child. We met up and I captured some adorable announcement pictures for them to use when announcing to family and friends the next day, after her first doctor’s appointment. Kelly, my sister-in-law, kept saying how this pregnancy felt different, she kept thinking it was twins. Having already snapped pictures to announce one new addition, the next day I had to edit photos to make the announcement for TWO babies rather than ONE!!! We were all sure it would be a one of each; we were so sure, we were practically deodorant!! :) We even would call them Lucas and Lilly while they were still in the belly. Well, God had his own little plan and decided to break the trend our family had for generations – Welcome Lucas and Logan!!

This family session was the twins 18 month pictures. The twins are in a phase of being obsessed with “doggies,” lucky for us, a couple happened to walk by and let the kids pet their dog. Two kids shouting “DOGGIE” the whole session and another one showing me how dinosaurs act, it made for memorable images. I have to say, to watch these little boys grow has been a blessing. I love watching them learn new things and develop their own personalities. I could listen to their enchanting laughter all day, every day! Even though we never got a Lilly, we wouldn’t trade either boy for anything. Although, that might be an option to reconsider when they’re older! ;)
